visual description of the concept

- prototype 1
The main structure is made of wood.
The supporting parts (green) are made of folded sheets of metal.
The two elements used to regulate the rotation of the two "drawers" are made of plastic; the mechanism still have to be further explored and developed.

- prototype 2
The main structure is made of wood.
The blue part is made of fabric (knitted wool or felt). A metal ring gives shape to the fabric.

concept testing process

I interviewed not many people but just few; and more than interviews I had some talk/conversation with people around the artifact.

I had the conversation in front of the images of the prototypes from WK 4 and the two images above here.

Only two of them said that they preferred the prototype 1, because it was pretty to them. They also said that they would have bought it. They suggested some reviewing in therms of shape (ex. eliminate sharp edges in the "drawers") and they asked me if it was possible to change colours. They were also doubtful around the effective stability of the objects when located inside, but after some my explanation they understood the practicality.
One person said that she would have preferred the prototype 2 because it was simplier (in terms of shape) and better looking to her. She also suggested to add one more shelf under the main circular "tray".
